SCHOOL ON FIRE

Yesterday THE SCHOOL WAS ON FIRE XD
During my General Illustration class, Lauren stopped drawing and asked "Does anyone smell melting crayons?" As soon as she said that, the fire alarm rang. Everyone gathered their stuff and when we looked in the hall we could see smoke coming from the fine arts side of the floor. I told everyone to go down the other side of the hall since there was a bridge to the E building.

When we get downstairs, everyone from the D building was standing outside on the sidewalk and three fire trucks came. Glut said she was in anatomy class when the model said something smelt funny and the bell rang right when she said that. The model jumped up and put on some clothes and the building was evacuated. Firefighters went into the buildings with axes and they even used the lift.

I called Ash and she was in the C building on the same floor but they didn't evacuate her side of the building. She was mad angry because she compared her situation to the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fires XD "They gon' burn us down while we stuck here sewing!"

People were holding up their cell phones and taking pictures like there was a celebrity. People started to go back into the building after two trucks left but I wasn't in any rush to run to a smoky floor so we sat in the lobby of the E building. The fire wasn't fully put out so the fire alarm rang again. Everyone pretty much left for home but I skipped Art History and went to eat with Glut.

Apparently the fire was started in the closet sized room reserved for spray paints and chemicals. Some fine arts student was melting plastic for her sculpture and started the fire. Three people didn't know how to use the fire extinguisher so the fire alarm rang.

So the semester is almost over for most of my classes.

Mon
Marcos is one of my better fashion classes. I hated it in the beginning, especially since it's four hours of drawing FASHION figures. But at this point, we're allowed to draw in any media that we wish! I draw in markers all the time in his class and get some nice pieces done that I can be proud of. But I get tired towards the last hour and start getting some lazy lines.

Then I have my only real General Illustration course and it's one of my least favourite classes. It's not fair, we don't get to register professors for our major classes. So we were stuck with this senile old man who doesn't like change. He's deaf in one ear and only listens to the first half of your questions. He had us frustrated for weeks. We're finally on the final project so I'm just gonna pop in my headphones and get the piece done. Unfortunately because of those Monday holidays, I have his class until the Monday before Christmas D:

At night I have an Art History coarse. I got a 97 on my midterm and the class is relatively easy. The professor talks so LOW and turn the lights off to show art slides so sometimes I get a little sleepy. But this class is an easy A.

Tue
UGH! I hate this class even more than the senile man's class. This is a "fashion applications" class and we have to draw the fashion figure but unlike Marcos, JJ makes us do the same crap everyweek. JJ is cool as a person, a Filipino hipster with some okay music, but such a horrible professor. He forces us to draw like HIM. All cutouts and straight lines, and then he makes us do this rediculous paint splatter thing on EVERY piece. I mean once in a while, the splatter can be appealing, I guess...but on EVERY piece? It's so repetitive and plain and boring. I can't WAIT for this class to be over. The last time I was there, I actually cried because I was so angry and frustrated. I skipped his class twice already but he saw me walking to school today and gave me a stink face.

My night class is a World Affairs class. I took an International Relations course at Hunter College so it's all a repeat. The professor is super lazy so we always get out an hour early. I got a 27/30 on my midterm and the test was like middle school multiple choice status.

Wed
I have Kung-Fu in the morning with this guy that looks like George Lucas XD He keeps talking about homeopathic medicine but I don't mind as long as he wastes time. The class is okay, I just wish he was more fit and energetic to help motivate us while he teaches us.

Anatomy is my favourite class and taught by my favourite professor! The only place where I can do what I love to do. This is also the only class where I get to draw the nude. I even stayed after class and sat in the next class to draw the model even more. I just love how energetic and charismatic the professor is too!

Thur
Photography is pretty fine when he doesn't lecture about things I already know. We don't use the dark room so it's kind of pricey having to print my assignments. Finally starting on the final project and that should cost me another 20 bucks.

Fri
My favourite fashion professor but I don't really enjoy drawing half the time in there. I have a night shift the day before so I'm tired and frustrated by the time it comes for me to draw there. The professor is so cool and awesome but I just hate fashion illusstration.

WORK
I'm so mad that P is a supervisor but acts so immature. Last week P asked if she could take my Sunday shift if I take her Wed shift. I said okay because I was sick and probably shouldn't be serving food to customers in my condition. She came AN HOUR LATE! She's been working there for over a year and her excuse was that she didn't know what time we open. B had to mix all the yogurt and clean the whole shop by herself and to top it off the computers weren't working. Then on Saturday, P wanted my shift again and I said no. I told her it wouldn't be fair to B and then P has been ignoring me since then.

Because of the last minute switch, my boss switched my sched so now I work Sunday night shifts D: 6PM-12AM!! It takes me an hour to get home and I have class at 8AM ; n ; I can see the panic attacks already. I can't wait to work my Sunday shift because it'll be the first time in a long time since I've been on shift with only dudes. My female co-workers just give attitude or ignore my presence. I'll be working with Andrew and Pon so it should be super chill. I'll even bring vegan cake to celebrate because Andrew is vegan.

All employees have to work two holidays. I told the boss I'll work any day but New Years Eve. I always have night shifts so can you imagine all the drunk butts demanding yogurt? D:

I feel like I've been lied to!

Ugh! I feel like I've been lied to!

On Thursdays I work from 4PM-12AM. We close at 12 but since I still have to count register and clean the front, I also stay and help the people who are closing so we can all leave around 12:20 or 12:40. The subway trains run slower at night so it doesn't make much of a difference to me.

My co-worker called me while I was working today and left me a voice-mail that went: I really need to talk to you, please call me back. The last time she left me a voice-mail, I didn't have my phone on me and she refused talk to me for a whole week. So I called her back and she asked me to switch shifts with her on Thursday because she has a doctor's appointment the next morning.

I said okay, hung up and went to look at the schedule.
That's when I realized that she was working 6PM-closing that night.

I started thinking about it. It didn't make sense to switch because we'd be leaving around the same time. The guy that closes with us on Thursday always helps us close super quick so we'd all get out earlier anyway. So it wouldn't make much difference if she'd have to wake up early and go to the doctor's office anyway.

She's always complaining about how the boss cut our hours we're all making less money than we were making in the summer. She's notorious for covering other people's shifts so she can get more hours. So I feel like she lied about the doctor's appointment just so she can make more money.

I'm not mad that she wanted to switch shifts. I'm mad because I feel like she lied about WHY she wanted to.
Normally other co-workers would just ask if we can switch shifts but never need to give a reason.
For her, I feel like she has always has to make an excuse.

Also, when we split tips it goes like this:
The two people who opened get more tip than the person who came at 1PM.
So last week I opened with B and we were supposed to get 3 dollars each. The other girl gets 2-something.
I was busy with customers but B told me that the girl took my three dollar tip.
Now, it's just three dollars BUT today B told me that one time she forgot her tip and the girl took it.
The girl said it was only 1.50.
When B asked S how much they made in tip, she said it was almost 4 dollars.

So watch, on Thursday, the guy and I will close so quick that by the time we finish and get to the subway station, she'll still be waiting for her train. And see how this switch makes absolutely NO sense.

Copying in an art college?!

There are a few students in my block that I think draw brilliantly.

One girl is a small little girl in a red coat that renders beautifully. On the first day, her 15 minute sketch of Professor Cabuay did not include the whole body but it was amazing shaded with more focus on value than line. I admire her work and hope to get to know her better but she's not very social outside of her clique.

The next artist the I admire is the friend of little coat girl. Her illustration style is wonderful as well but not as realistic as little coat girl. We had a not so attractive model and she drew her far younger and prettier than she actually was. Nevertheless the girl draws beautiful works.

Another classmate that I see lots of potential in is a girl who wants to be a comic illustrator. She did some lovely face illustrations for one of our classes. I can see her being quite successful in the industry.

There's also a girl who drew a well done and emotional clown illustration for a homework assignment.

Now prepare for me to rant:
There is another classmate of mine that I think draws lovely but something about him bothers me quite a lot. Seeing his figure drawings made me go, "Hmm, I'd like to see more of his work."

For a photography assignment we only needed to hand in 6 photos but he came in with a his work mounted on board. I thought, "Wow, he's really serious about his work! How admirable!" But I felt bad because it was going to be difficult for the professor to carry it home.

I walked around in anatomy class to see what other people could do. He had lovely figure drawing pieces but I had yet to see any conceptual pieces, until our general illustration homework. The assignment was to illustrate our fear. He came in, once again with his work mounted.
But this time his piece totally infuriated me!

He blatantly copied this image:

All he did was place them on a black background and put a chain around them! He did even change the composition or move the characters around. The professor complemented him on his creativity and technique. I just wanted to scream out "LIES!" Then I realized that he's that kind of person who can only copy. Like some people can create beautiful drawings from photos but when it comes to drawing from the imagination it fails epically. I mean, I can understand if you were inspired by an image, but then you could at least change the angle, placement and actions of the figures!

Then, to make this worse, he brings it everywhere with him and leaves it out trying to make it inconspicuous. He leaves it out knowing the other girls will compliment him on his creativity and technique.
GAG ME WITH A SPOON!! DO IT NOW!
Taisa and I came into class on Tue and it was on the floor and we were like WTF is this out during Fashion Applications?! Then he left it out AGAIN during Anatomy. And aparently he or his friend's locker in in the same aisle as ours. They were all crowding our locker with their outwork on the floor just asking to be stepped on. As so as I tried to open my locker, he flipped his mat board over so I could see the stupid copied piece again!! And then he looked at me like, "Aren't you going to say it's awesome?!" To which I couldn't help but say under my breath "チッ、なんで君がここにいるんの？！" Taisa said he did the same exact thing when she went to the locker. He just pisses me off how smug he is about the whole thing!

I just want to print out wallet sized versions of the image and toss them around the classroom before class starts! Or make a poster that says "In college, you get thrown out for plagiarizing papers, doesn't this apply for illustration as well?" But that would imply that I have no life and I could really be doing more productive things with my life. Or I could simply, if I see it again, just tell him that it looks awfully familiar and ask where did he get such brilliant inspiration from.

His friend pisses me off too. He's such a kiss-ass so we call him "brown nose." He tries to flirt with all the girls and suck up to all the professors. My favourite male professor did a demo and then started to point out all the mistakes and Brown-nose keep going on about how beautiful it was. And this week Brown-nose mounted his photography homework too but he laid it out in messy angles and it was just sad. And I'm sick and tired of seeing his face! It's like he's everywhere!!! He was in the bookstore, in almost all the buildings, the hallways, all around campus and his locker is right next to us.

I feel like these dudes are the type who only applied to our school because they know we have a large population of girls and very few straight guys. Both these guys are about 26 years old so I find it extremely creepy how they flirt with all these 18 year old girls.

学校がないときは、私はアルバイトをしています。

ジェニファーが大学へ行くためにいなくなったので、私たちは彼女のためにパーティーを開きました。パン屋にバブル・ティーやベルギーワッフルやプルコギピザや小豆アイスクリームがありました。たくさん食べ物がありました！

Some of my co-workers left to go to college so we had a party. The bakery had bubble tea, belgium waffle, bulgogi pizza, red-bean shaved ice cream. There was so much food!

学校が始まる前に、私は、ジョーイちゃんが寮に移るのを手伝いました。ルームメートたちは韓国人です。でも、ジョーイちゃんはフィリピン人です。ルームメートたちはいつも韓国語をしゃべるので、ジョーイちゃんは寂しそうです。

Before school started, I helped my friend move into her dorm. All of her roommates are Korean but she is Filipino. They speak in Korean all the time so she feels lonely.

I got a new laptop! It's super tiny so I can take it to school. I also bought a pen that records my lectures and notes. On Monday, I want to buy the Zune HD. I need a new music player.

先週、３８時間を働きました！めちゃ疲れたんです～
Last week I worked 38 hours! I'm so tired.
でも、木曜日にお給料をもらいます。やった～お金！

金曜日の夜、店の外にホボがいました。
Friday night there was a hobo outside our store.
綺麗に見えましたが、タバコを求めていました。
He looked pretty clean but he was begging for cigarettes.
彼が店の外にいましたし、店内にはお客さんも少ししかいませんでした。
Because he was outside our store, we had fewer customers.
私達は疲れていたので、あまり怒りませんでした。
We were tired so we didn't mind.
マシンをきれいにしたとき、ヨーグルトの大きいカップを彼に与えました。
そして、彼は去っていきました。
When we cleaned the machines, we gave him a large cup of yogurt and he left.

土曜日の夜、酔っぱらっているお客さんがきました。
Saturday night there was a drunk customer.

The guy wanted original flavour but his girlfriend bought pomegranate flavour.
彼の顔は赤くなって、彼女を怒り始めました。
He turned red and began yelling at her.

I told the girl she could keep the pomegranate yogurt but the man began yelling at me. It was really scary! I thought he was going to jump over the counter.

日曜日の朝に働きましたが、私はめちゃ疲れていたので、帰りました。
I worked Sunday morning but I was was tired so I went home.

Work and hang out time

私はアルバイトが好きですが、父は私が遅く帰宅することが好きじゃありません。私がよく最後に店を閉めるので、午前2時に帰ります。彼は、私に別の仕事を見つけて欲しいのですが、私はそうしたくはありません。

代わりに、私は、2週間後に面接すると父に言うつもりです。そしてし、ただ外に出かけて、当日、写真を取るだけのつもりです。友人は、彼女の誕生日に私に撮影してほしいのです。

I like my job but my dad doesn't like me coming home late. I close the shop a lot so I get home at 2AM. He wants me to find another job, but I don't want to. Instead, I'm going to tell him that I have an interview in two weeks. But I'll just go out and take photos that day. My friend wants me to do a photo shoot for her birthday.

今晩、店を閉めるのですが、金曜日と土曜日の朝に働きます。
I have to close the shop today but I'm working in the morning on Friday and Saturday.

My friend came from California and we met up at Kayla's house. I bought cake for everyone. We watched TV, talked and played video games. My dad was mad that I get home late from work so I had to be home by 12.

My friends came over to my house for some karaoke. We have a karaoke machine from the Philippines but it's kind of old. It has a lot of old songs but my friends like Motown music anyway.

その後で、ケイーラちゃんとOlive・Treeに行きました。テーブルの上にたくさん絵を描きました。1時間半、カフェに描いていました。ウェイターが怒られそうです。

After, I went to the Olive Tree with Kayla. We drew a lot on the tables. We stayed there for an hour and a half just drawing. The waiter started to get mad;;

Baby Showers and Red Mango

土曜日はカシェイちゃんのベビーシャワーでした。ブルックリン区でパーティーだったので、私はビビと共に電車で行くつもりでした。でもビビちゃんがまだ準備ができていなかったので、私はフラッシングまで電車に乗るようにと言われました。彼女はまだ赤ちゃんのためにプレゼントを買っていませんでした。

Saturday was Cachea's baby shower. The party was in Brooklyn and I was going to take the train with Bibi. Bibi had me take the train to Flushing because she wasn't ready yet. She still had to buy a gift for the baby.

赤ちゃんのお父さんの家でベビーシャワーがありました。お父さんの友達も来ていました。でも、伝統的なベビーシャワーには、母親の友人だけがいるべきです。そして、赤ちゃんのお父さんはあまり優しくない人だと思いました。　ビビちゃんと私はパーティーで不快に感じました、そして、私たちはあまり楽しめませんでした。

ベビーシャワーのやり方に不満だったので、パーティーの後で私はカシェイちゃんとビビちゃんに夕食をごちそうしました。St.Marksに行きましたが、土曜日の夜だったので、たくさんの人がいました。食べたり、話したり、写真も取りました!

I wasn't happy with how the baby shower went so I offered to buy Cachea and Bibi dinner. We went to St. Marks but because it was Saturday night, it was crowded. We ate and talked and took pictures! It was more fun than the party.

火曜日は、私がRed Mangoで働く初日でした。　ユニフォームを貰い、研修を受け始めました。フローズンヨーグルトに渦を巻かせるのにまだ苦労しています。きれいな渦巻を作るのは難しいです。私は、木曜日と日曜日にまた働きます。

It was my first day working at Red Mango. I got my uniform and started training. I still have trouble swirling the frozen yogurt. It's hard to make a pretty swirl.

Interview w/ Urban

今日、URBAN・OUTFITTERSの面接でした！前の面接は、他の人々と一緒でした。他の二人のほうが上手く答えていたので、仕事が得られるとは思いませんでした。でも、彼らはまた私に電話をしてきたので、よく出来たのだと思います。

I had my interview at Urban Outfitters! Last time I had an interview, I had to be interviewed in a group. I didn't think I was going to get the job because two people seemed better than me. But they called me back and I think I did well!

面接の前に、公園に行ったら、ブロンクスから来たパーフォーマー達がいました。ビデオ・カメラがほしいですが、たくさん写真をとりました。もし、その仕事に就けたら、SONYのHDビデオ・カメラを買いたいです。そして、映画を作り始めたいんです。

Before my interview, I went to the park. There were a group of street performers from the Bronx. I wish I had a video camera, but I took a lot of photos. If I get this job, I want to buy a Sony HD camera! I want to start making films.

パーフォーマーンスの後で、アイス・クリームと有機ソーダを買いましたが、あまり美味しくなかったです。
I bought an ice cream bar and organic soda but it didn't taste very good.

面接の後で、４２番通りを歩いて、紀伊國屋書店で2冊の本を買いました。「名探偵ホームズ・バスカビル家の犬」と「唱えて覚える・漢字の本・３年生」を買いました。そのホームズの本のほうが「名探偵ホームズ・まだらんひも」より分厚いので、読むことが出来ればいいのですが。紀伊國屋書店で「名探偵ホームズ－緋色の研究」を見つけられないのですが、本当にそのほんを日本語で読みたいです！

I walked to 42nd street and bought two books at Kinokuniya. I bought Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of Baskerville in Japanese and a kanji book for 3rd graders. This Holmes book is much bigger than Sherlock Homes and the Speckled Band so I hope I can finish it;; I couldn't find Sherlock Holmes and A Study in Scarlet at Kinos D: I really want to read that one in Japanese.

On Sunday I went to see the film Bruno with my friend. It was so weird but I did laugh at a few parts. There were some graphic H scenes which was a total surprise;; I don't think that older people and some men would enjoy the film because of some of the jokes.

日曜日、友達と「Bruno」という映画を見に行きました。ブルーノはちょっと変ですが、時々笑えました。たくさんHのシーンがあって、驚きました。そして、お年寄りの人と何人かの男性は、それらの冗談ため映画を楽しんでいないと思います。

おまけ：

The song at the end of the film had so many famous celebrity singers! It must have cost a lot of money to hire those singers.
(映画の最後の歌はたくさん有名な歌手が出てました！これだけの歌手を雇うにはたくさんの費用がかかったに違いありません。

After the film, went to eat at my friends house and watched TV. She has three cats and two dogs. I took lots of pictures of her pets.

映画の後で、友達のアパートで食事をしながらテレビを見ました。彼女は3匹の猫と2匹の犬を飼っています。私は、彼女のペットの写真をたくさん撮りました。

MAN・MANのコンサートに行きました

On Thursday, I went to a concert with my friends. Cashea's friend bought Italian ices for us.
木曜日に、友達とコンサートに行きました。カシェイちゃんの友達はイタリアン・アイスを私たちに買ってくれました。

I brought my zoom lens with me so I could get some good pictures. The concert was three hours long so I took a lot of pictures. Cashea had a video camera so she took a lot of videos.
いい写真を撮りたいので、ズーム・レンズを持って行きました。コンサートは３時間開催されたので、たくさん写真を撮りました！カシェイちゃんはビデオ・カメラを持っていたので、ビデオを撮りました。

There were a lot of people there. Lots of people smoked tobacco and I smelled weed once D: When the concert was over, the police escorted everyone over the bridge.
たくさん人がいました。そして、たくさん人がタバコと大麻を吸っていたので、大麻の強いにおいをかぎました。コンサートが終わったとき、警察は、橋の上で皆を誘導していました。

We went to St. Marks to eat. We ate at a Japanese restaurant and we all ate a little bit of each thing everyone ordered. In English we call it a "pot luck." I got home at 12:30 and uploaded the photos.

Today I went shopping in Soho and Chinatown with some friends. I have an interview on Wednesday so I bought a shirt and shorts. We ate at a Chinese cafe and went to the park in St. Marks.

お久しぶりですね！

Thursday was my art teacher's gallery opening!
木曜日は私の美術の先生のギャラリーのオープンでした。

We went to Olive Tree and there was a Tibetan shop across the street. There were statues and jewelry of Hindu gods. My teacher bought a necklace and a pair of earrings.

私たちはOlive Treeに行きました。そして、チベットの店が通りのむこうにありました。ヒンズー教の神の像と宝石がありました。先生はネックレスとイヤリングを買いました。

Friday I went to eat with my art teacher. Her sister was coming from Canada by train so we had free time. We went to eat at a Korean BBQ place. My teacher is vegan so she had vegetable dumplings.

Zoo

Sunday, I went to the zoo with Kurahara-sensei. I got to the Grand Central Terminal 20 minutes early so I took photos. My new zoom lens arrived in the mail so I brought it with me.

日曜日、蔵原先生と動物園に行きました。グランド・セントラル駅に二十分早く着いたので、写真を撮りました。新しいズームレンズが郵送で/郵便で届いたので、それを持って来ました。

Sensei introduced me to two college students from Japan, two students from Pace University, and two students from Language House.

先生は日本から来た2人の大学生とペース大学の２人の学生と、ランデージ・ハウスの２人学生をを紹介しました。

We went to the Bronx Zoo around 11 and went to see the sea lions and tigers eat. Then we walked around to see other animals.

ブロンクス動物園に11時頃に行って、アシカと虎が食べるのを見に行きました。そして、他の動物を見るために歩き回りました。

One of Sensei's other students met us at the zoo. He has been studying Japanese for 10 years. He vocabulary was quite expansive but he still had an accent when he spoke. I only had one year of Japanese class so I hope to be able to speak at the same level as he did.

先生の他の学生の一人は動物園で私たちに会いました。彼は１０年間、日本語を勉強しています。ボキャブラリーは豊富でしたが、話したとき、訛りがありました。私は１年間日本語の授業を受けただけなので、その人と同じ程度話すことができたらいいなと思っています。

We left the museum at 5 and went downtown to a restaurant called Olive Tree. The tables are blackboards and you can draw on them with chalk.

私たちは、5時に博物館を出て、繁華街にあるOlive Treeと呼ばれるレストランに行きました。テーブルは黒板です。そして、チョークで黒板に何かを書くことができます。

I went to the shopping district to by my mum a birthday present.
商店街に母の誕生日プレゼントを買いに行きました。
I sat in Starbucks for an hour and studied Japanese.
1時間、スターバックスで座って、日本語を勉強しました。

Then around 6 I went to Glut's neighborhood. I had to wait 10 minutes before she showed up so I took a lot of pictures.
6時頃に、グラットちゃんの家の近所に行きました。グラットちゃんが現れるまで10分間待たなければならなかったので、私は多くの写真を撮りました。

We went to her house and ate BBQ. After, we went to her aunt's house and ate even more food. Her family bought a fruit salad and a chocolate cake. The cake was good so I had two slices!
彼女の家に行って、BBQを食べました。その後、グラットちゃんのおばさんの家に行って、さらに多くの食べ物を食べました。彼女のご家族はフルーツサラダとチョコレート・ケーキを買いました。ケーキが美味しかったので、2切れ食べました!

Her family watched the fireworks on TV but we played the Wii until 10.

Graduation

I graduated on Friday! I now have a high school diploma and illustration certificate. I graduated with honours which means that my average grade for all four years was over a 90. I picked up my diploma at 11 and had teachers sign my yearbook until 12. I got home at 1, got dressed and went to the train station. My graduation was at Hunter College so I knew how to get there.

金曜日、卒業式でした。高校の卒業証書とイラストの免状をもらいました。私は名誉賞で卒業しました(年間の私の平均点が90ポイントであったことを意味します)。11時に卒業証書を貰って、12時まで、先生達にアルバムにサインを書いてもらいました。1時ごろ帰って、ドレスを着て、地下鉄の駅に行きました。卒業式はハンター大学であったので、どうやって行くのかは知っています。

I wish I brought the camera but my mum took it with her. ; n ;
カメラを持って行きたかったけど、母が持っていきました。

My aunt and parents came late so they had to sit in the balcony. My mum couldn’t take a lot of pictures because she didn’t have a zoom lens. There were over 300 students so the line was long. I didn’t receive any awards but My friend won the art award.

両親と伯母さんは遅くに着いたので、バルコニーに座らなければなりませんでした。そして、母はカメラのズーム・レンズを持っていないので、写真はあまり撮りませんでした。300人以上の学生がいたので、列は長かったです。私は美術で賞をもらえませんでしたが、友達は受賞しました。

When the ceremony was over there was a big crowd in the hallway. It was hard to walk and it started to rain so no one wanted to move. It took a while but I got through. There was thunder and lighting and I had an umbrella but my parents didn’t. Later, we went to Flushing and ate Korean food.

式の後、廊下は混雑していました。雨が降っていたので、皆なかなか動かなくて、歩くのがたいへんでした。雷と稲光がありました。そして、私はかさを持っていましたが、両親は持っていませんでした。家族とFlushingと韓国料理に行きました。

Today there is going to be a graduation party. My friend is paying for it and invited a lot of people. It’s going to be late at night, on a Sunday night. The party is in Staten Island and that’s two hours from my house. I don’t like half the people who will be going to the party. I don’t like parties so I’m not going.

今日は卒業パーティーがあります。友達はお金を払って、たくさんの人を招待しました。今日は日曜日で、パーティは夜にがあります。スタテン・アイランドであって、私の家から二時間、電車に乗った所です。パーティーが好きじゃないので、私は行かないんです。

First things first:
I GOT INTO CALARTS!!!
...I can't afford to attend that college, but STILL
It's so difficult to get into that college so I feel so proud of myself : D

AND the new episode of South Park was so random~
Mr. Slave was in the Jonas Brother's audience doing dirty thing XD

So I woke up yesterday and was getting ready and my dad had a hissy fit about the condition my room was in. He told me to clean it and then left the house. Told me this 10 minutes before I have to leave the house and catch the train. So I just left it ;;

School went by quickly before I went to meet up with Bibi and Audrey. Cash came with us too. She's in my Forensics class but I've never talked to her before. She always looked so serious and angry and she hung out with Elisa so I never really attempted to talk to her. But now that we've hung out, I now know how cool she is : D

We took the train to Flushing and headed over to Daniel's house by bus. I've only met him once before but they were trying to hook me up with him. As soon as we got there Audrey wanted food XD We were supposed to head over to Bryan's house later on but he said that he had to babysit so we stayed at Daniel's. They made Daniel take off my shoes for me;; We played Soul Caliber and Guitar Hero until 8. Audrey beat me so hard in Soul Caliber;; But she never played Guitar Hero before so we had to teach her how to play that. Now she's going to play it a whole lot more often until she can kick our ass at it or eventually get frustrated.

We had to leave around 8 so that we can still use our Student Metro Cards. While waiting for the train, the girls left Daniel and me by ourselves, yelling that we should exchange numbers and don't pay them no mind; Then they just made it really awkward between us. So he initiated a conversation about colleges. He's going to be going to a Cuny school because he doesn't want to leave his mum with the trouble of caring for his autistic sister by herself. So when the college conversation died out we noticed that the girls were chatting out of our sight.

Daniel: "They're going to keep doing that until we exchange numbers."
Me: "...I think so too."
Silence... I pulled out my phone and typed in his name and he typed his number in. He pulled out his phone and I typed my number in and then asked if he remembered my name. When they tried hooking me up with Bryan, Byran kept forgetting my name. But Daniel smoothly said "How could I forget a pretty face." I probably turned pretty red at that point;;

Then the group of girls passed by us and still told us to ignore them. So I chatted with Daniel until the bus came while they were still in the market. We said our goodbyes and got on the bus. We spent the bus ride thinking of names for Cash's baby boy. We had a little too much fun doing that XD Then we decided to get something to eat. We got to the restaurant around 8:30 and stayed there until 11:30 XD There was a lot of food and we chatted about a lot of things. Before I got on the train they told me to call Daniel soon or they'll tell him to call me;;

I got to my neighbourhood around 12 in the morning and reached my house by 12:30. Everyone was asleep so I used this opportunity to clean my room before my dad can bitch about it. Then I woke up around 9 and everyone in the house is out. My mum went to another hospital to train for a new job and my dad is at work too. I guess my mum took my brother somewhere because she probably thought I had my Cooper class today.

I'm thinking of quitting my Cooper Union classes. I don't have lot of time to have fun and I've been falling behind in my AP US History homeworks. I really do enjoy drawing, but then it comes to the times when Forest the Poet comes in and I just want to bang my head against a radiator. I also don't really enjoy my classmates there. I love CC and Stephen,Steven and Bobby are pretty cool but they're not there all the time so I'm left with immature underclassmen. I want more time to relax and having a Saturday class from 10-5 isn't working out very well for me.

Bibi asked me if I was free on Friday. I walked up to my mum when I got home and told her "I need Friday." I didn't tell her why...but if she asks, I'll tell her I'm babysitting. She can't take off from work so my dad is going to have to come home early. He should just let my brother go home by himself and let the kid grow up already.

I went present shopping before heading over to Hunter. I hope Bibi and Daniel like their presents : D After class I went to Urban Outfitters and bought a nice top. The nice outfit I bought on Saturday got ruined in the dryer. So many buttons fell off;;

NB - Chapter 1 Outline

Since we finished chapter one, I thought I might post the mini-novel/outline we worked on before we started drawing. I might post one at the end of every chapter. This one is pretty long;;; That's what happens when chapter 1 is 90+ pages.

The outline of chapter 2 is SO MUCH shorter than this XD

Lotus flower meaning: far from the one he loves
Akira is sitting in a field of lotus flowers. He sits there pondering about his purpose. He plucks a flower and is disperses into many butterflies. There are so many that they block his vision and the flapping of their wings creates a gust of wind.

When he opens his eyes again he’s in Shiba’s arms during the Shiba-Kai fight.
I don’t understand…how it came to this.
What is this?

In the crams school classroom, two girls are sitting behind Akira and Mayuu. The blue haired girl is Minami and the pink haired girl is Nanami. They complain about boring cram school is and that there’s better ways to spend their night.

Minami writes a note for Mayuu, hoping that she’ll join them after school for some karaoke, and folds it and aims to flick it at her. It misses and hits Akira in the head instead. Nanami makes fun of Minami’s aim. Akira opens it and turns around to look at who threw it. Minami points to Mayuu and tells him that it was for her. Akira sighs and taps Mayuu’s shoulders and uses a hand motion to show that is was from Minami. Mayuu reads it and gives the girls thumbs up.

The teacher tells the class that he’s going to do one more problem before he releases them. He notices the problem is quite difficult and calls on Akira to do it on the board. Akira gets it right and Minami and Nanami make obnoxious remarks quite loudly. The teacher tells him to ignore such comment because they’re just jealous of geniuses.

The class is dismissed. Minami and Nanami gather around Mayuu, waiting for her to finish getting ready. But Mayuu has changed her mind because they were still making obnoxious jokes against Akira. The two are offended and leave, muttering about how un-cool she was.

Akira walks home and passes by an electronics shop. The TV in the window is on the news channel. The anchorwoman is talking about a recent explosion is currently under investigation. He hears a loud bang from down the street. He peaks from behind a lamppost to find Shiba being attacked by Sarutobi. Sarutobi wants money from Shiba but Shiba refuses. Just when he’s about to cut the boy, Akira takes a picture with his camera-phone.

Sarutobi was about to attack Akira when a local policeman shows up, claiming that the shop-owner complained about loud noises. Sarutobi manages to escape when the officer is distracted with Shiba and Akira. The officer calls for an EMC and sends Akira home.

Akira arrives home to finds his keys missing. He dropped it in all the commotion. His mother opens the door for him and tells him that he needs to stop loosing his key all the time. She pulls out a few shopping bags and wants him to try on his new clothes. Akira is too tired and goes upstairs. He can’t study because he feels bad about what happened to the kid.

The next day Shiba is waiting by the same lamppost. He introduces himself and wanted to thank Akira by giving him a gift. When Akira notices it’s a leash, he takes it the wrong way and gives it back. Then Shiba smiles.

Shiba: Can I think of it as a gift?
Akira: Think of it as you want! I don’t want anything to do with you!

A week had passed and Shiba is waiting for him everyday by the same lamp post the two have met recently. Akira wonders if Shiba even has a home, but decides to shrug it off. In need of hurry to get home, Inukami offers to escort him home.

When at home, Akira’s mother is thrilled to have Inukami over. Shiba and Akira’s mother is talking that they have not realized Akira had gone upstairs. When Shiba realizes, Akira’s mother ask Shiba to help her with cooking. Shiba accepts (-not that he had any other options) and gladly helps with dinner.

Later, they finish cooking and his mother asks Shiba to go and get Akira. Shiba nods and walk upstairs knocking on Akira’s door.

Shiba: NB-sama?

No answer. Shiba tried again, but silent. Shiba enters to find Akira asleep from studying and watching the news about the dangerous explosion incidents that has gone off recently, claiming that it must be the Yakuza. Shiba moves Akira to the bed, calling him ‘NB-sama’

Akira grabs his shirt and says that is not his name. When Akira’s mother comes in, she is surprised that her son is asleep when they have a guest in the house. Shiba looks back at Akira asleep in his arms. He then drops him down softly on the bed and says goodnight to Akira and goodbye to Akira’s mother but she stops him to have some dinner.

While eating dinner Akira’s mother asks bunch of questions and finally talks about how bad she feels for Akira, revealing bits about him(-of course calls him my son or him). Shiba listens carefully. She talks about his older brother running away, and how she is divorced. She stops herself from talking too much. Shiba asks to leave, feeling bad to stay.

Mum: Oh I’m so sorry, I’m sure Inukami-kun’s parents will be worried if I don’t return you home.
Shiba: Yeah, worried.

The next day Akira wonders what had happened to Shiba. His mother said that he was in hurry to go home, because his parents might be worried. Then she asks about the collar, which Akira says it’s the new fashion sense in Shibuya(-lies). His mother bought it.

Just as he walks by few obaa-sans are outside talking about how scary it is to walk around the Yakuza territory and the explosions. After school and cram school, Akira is in hurry to leave. He leaves his notebook, which Mayuu who was getting ready to pack sees it.

Mayuu: Sensei, someone left their notebook. It says Chougami Akira.

The teacher asks Mayuu to return the notebook for him because Akira has just left. Mayuu nods and runs off. Just as she got out and ran for a while, she sees Akira and Shiba.

Just as Shiba greets Akira, and Akira rambling about how dangerous it is outside, Shiba quickly wrap Akira in his arms to protect him from the explosions. Sarutobi shows up, sucking his teeth and saying how troublesome they were.

Akira and Shiba look up, to see Sarutobi. Sarutobi says in manner way that I have found them. The foot step gets louder with eerily tension. The mystery man(Kai) says long time no see, Inukami-kun. Mayuu knows who this man is, as she stops herself from jumping into action, yet.

Akira is confused. Kai asks who that was, but Shiba refuses to answer. Sarutobi grabs Akira, showing Akira to Kai. Kai smirks and remarks on how girly he looks. Shiba grabs Akira, threatening to bite them if they lay a finger on Akira.

Shiba: Don’t you dare to touch NB-sama.

Shiba began to be wrapped around mist like aura, growling like a dog as Kai laughs. He says he doesn’t care, as long as Shiba pays the debt. Kai opens his shirt, revealing his tattoo and a gigantic fish spirit erupts. Akira is terrified. The fight begins.

Mayuu is in the corner hiding, watching the tension between Akira and the bleached kid between Kai. She bites her lower lip, not able to decide what to do. Kai was strong, and she was mad that he revealed the spirit so casually to commoners. She then notices Shiba’s spirit. And knows this fight won’t be a normal fight.

Kai is on offense, while Shiba is on defense because he is trying to protect Akira. Kai says to throw the kid away to fight like a real man, but Shiba refuses to abandon Akira. Akira is staring in horror, wondering how it end it up like this (-back to prologue)

While Shiba is protecting the shield breaks. Which alarms him, Shiba is in deep thought of what to do. He needs to protect NB-sama, but at the same time he needs to fight back. Shiba curses underneath his breath, holding Akira tightly and having his back faced towards Kai’s attack.

Mayuu calls out fire claw, which surprised Akira and Shiba. Shiba turned around, Akira looked up to see a girl in sailor uniform(-Mayuu wears sailor now. Age 15) with a pair of crazy eye mask she bought in a convenient store near them. She says some ‘sailor moon’ lines, and threatens Kai.

Kai stares at the mystery girl, and gave a sudden sigh. Laughs for a while, and walks away. Mayuu stops him, calling him a coward. Kai quickly grabbed Mayuu’s wrist and pulled her close to him. He whispers to Mayuu by calling her name and that she would be in trouble if master found out with a smirk.

Mayuu growls, and pushes Kai off of her. She then uses her spirit the white lion. Kai doesn’t fight, he just stand and wait to be hit only to be blocked by Sarutobi and his (ugly) monkey spirit. Kai leaves and Sarutobi follows afterwards. Mayuu stands dumbfounded but overall she turns back to see Akira and Shiba.

She asks if they were alright, but as terrified as Akira was he called them monsters and ran off. Mayuu did not get to return the notebook and Shiba stood there hurt. Akira reached home, locking the doors and ignoring his mom’s comment. He is thinking what the heck was going on.

He later feels bad about calling them monsters, and remembers how painful Shiba looked. Akira shrugged it off and went to bed.

Sarutobi is angry that he didn’t get to hit that sailor moon wannabe girl. But Kai threatens to hurt him. Suddenly one of the men comes saying how they were intruded by someone. Kai knows who it was, and Sarutobi makes all sorts of noise. Mayuu shuts him up with her lion spirit.

Mayuu asks why he had gone soft and not attack her, Kai only smiles. Kai then talks about how he liked it when she was little and followed him everywhere. A small flashback, and Mayuu wants Kai to admit that he was lying to her. Kai says he lied, but had no heart to tell so. Mayuu then leaves.

Kai is angry as he punched the wall. Someone laughs, talking about how the great Kai was beaten verbally by the little princess. This mystery man(Hiruma) talks about it doesn’t really matter because she can’t escape her destiny as well. Mayuu is at home, and greets her grandfather.

The next day Akira is at cram school, in search for his notebook which Mayuu could not give it back because he had run away. She sits next to him and calls his name. And Akira is startled to have someone call him by his real name. She hands him his notebook saying he forgot them yesterday and she tried to return it to him.

Mayuu wasn’t mad about him calling her a monster, but tried to get something out of him about the fight yesterday. Akira paid no mind, which Mayuu decided that her disguise was awesome. After class, Mayuu asks Akira if he wants to go to the new café. While walking she notices Shiba and asks ‘why don’t you ask him to come along as well?’ Akira stares at her suspiciously or confused, that Mayuu corrects herself that she had seen him with that kid together a lot that she assumed that he was Akira’s friend. Akira says no, but stares at Shiba feeling horrible.

After having some tea in the café, Mayuu brings up the conversation about the explosions. But she gets nothing out of him, as if he was trying to deny he knew anything about the battles. Akira offers to escort Mayuu home.

It begins to rain outside, which Mayuu had Akira waiting outside and comes back with an umbrella. She thanks him and hopes to see him again in cram school. Just as Akira walks home in the rain with the yakuza looking umbrella, he thinks that Shiba shouldn’t be there anymore. Wrong. Shiba is waiting for Akira in the rain.

We were going to hang out in my neighbourhood but we went to Flushing instead.
I got a cute outfit from Joyce Leslie and some hair clips from the Flushing Mall.

Trip and School

We went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art yesterday. It was a class trip but Dr. S brought the sophomore class as well.

We didn't leave until 4rd period so we were just hanging out until then. I sat and drew Chenel several times because I have difficulty getting the person I'm drawing to be recognizable to other people. I can draw people but not make them look like whom I'm drawing. Charles and I were drawing while the girls started talking about weird porno videos that they've seen. One of them was about a deaf girl who's dream was to be a porn star;; She was making totally unsexy sounds XD Then the conversation suddenly turned into ones about hobo's. Random...

She wanted us to take the E DOWNTOWN to the L to the 6 UPTOWN... I just told her to take the E uptown and the 6 further uptown. It doesn't make sense to go downtown and then go back up;; When we got off the 6 and started to walk towards the museum, Johnathan walked up to a tourist and asked them if they could take a picture of him with them. It was so random but they took pictures with him and he was posing and everything XD

Us seniors had more freedom and were allowed to wander by ourselves and leave once we were done. Dr. S had to stay with the underclassmen and go with them on a guided tour. I walked with Woodie, Christina, Lizette and Maria. We went through the galleries quickly to fill out the worksheet that was required. Our classmates told us that they got lost trying to find the paintings necessary. I just kept asking a guard every time I saw one and we got to where we needed to go with no problem.

Ariel and Mariana started to ballroom dance in the middle of an exhibit XD These tourists from Tennessee stopped to watch and take pictures;; Mad random...

The studiolo was closed when we went to visit so we just went back downstairs and handed our completed worksheets in. We were allowed to leave from there but Dr. S asked where we were going. Christina immediately replied that she was going home, but I said that I was ready to party. I started to joke that I was going to go to a club downtown and find me a nice man to lay with XD The underclassman next to her gave us all a weird look. It wasn't until Woodie joked that she was going to find herself a nice woman that the kid ran away ;;

Today...I didn't do much work.

I went to Whole Foods in the morning to buy a salad. As soon as I walked in, they had boxes of my favourite kettlecorn popcorn on sale. I walked by to get a salad and then changed my mind and wanted some carrots and then changed my mind again and got some watermelon. In the end...I left with watermelon, OJ...and two bags of popcorn XD

We talked through both periods of art. We started talking about the museum trip, then about the slums of India, then about dirty houses in our neighourhoods, then about bad hotels, then about bad neighbours, then about animals.   So yeah...talked the whole two periods and had no problem with it XD

My English teacher wasn't here so we read aloud the rest of King Headly II and ate pop corn. In Physical Education, Sostre was moving furniture aroudn in the weight room so we sat in the gym lounging about. I got a good nap in and we did a few sit ups and left. We watched a documentary in APUSH and watched CSI Las Vegas during my forensics class. So yeah...It was a lazy friday for me.

I want to go karaoke with Charles but I have to take care of my little brother.   He's ten years old and we only live 5 blocks from the school.    Why can't he walk home by himself? Why do I have to walk him 5 blocks and stay in the house until my parents get home?
Because St. John's is closing down and they're laying off people, my mum has to be there everyday.   My step-dad doesn't want his son to stay home by himself. My brother got into a fight with a kid from another family that was babysitting him so they don't want to care for him anymore. This is the second family that no longer wants to babysit him.

So this all is very frustrating to me. I want to hang out and have fun. I spent the past three years studying and working hard to get into the college of my choice. Now I want to have fun but I can't.

Saturday
I went to Cooper and got there a few minutes late. I sat next to CC and started drawing right away. We started off with a still life and after two hours I ended up doodling on the side. Steven came in late so he had to sit across the room. But Bobby sat in between CC and I so we had a few good chuckles. When the model came and they brought out the blankets were wondering if anyone actually washed those sheets. DX We laughed for a good while about it;;

Forest came so we had to do some more poetry stuff that no one really wants to do. We did that for a good hour and we were counting down the minutes until lunch time. Bobby was going to come with us for lunch but had to meet up with a friend. Steven left with his friend too. So I went to eat with CC and her boy. We went to this cool Belgian fry place run by Filipinos. They have all these unique dips to choose from. We got the pom-teriyaki sauce. CC also bought a falafel and I got a slice of pizza. We then headed to Red Mango and I had a POM yogurt.

CC cut the rest of Cooper to go to Chinatown with her boyfriend and I was tired so I just took the train home.

Today
I met up with Glut to celebrate her birthday. We went to see Milk in the theatre by my house. We were still early so we went to eat at Eddie's Sweet Shop. There were so many old people in the theatre;; One lady fell asleep and was snoring mad loud XD We kept making jokes. The dude who was in Pinapple Exress was Milk's main squeeze! We kept cracking jokes about the Jesus blunt from PE XD The kid from High School Musical was in the film. I pointed him out right away and Glut didn't believe me until half way through the film.

We headed to St. Marks so I could take Glut to eat at the Filipino fry place. She got the curry-ketschup dip. We went to Red Mango and ate fries and yogurt XD Fries taste kind of good when dipped in POM yogurt : D As weird as it sounds;;;

Glut bought a hat before we headed home on the train.

Karaoke!

Today Christina and I went with Charles to drop off his Cooper home test.
We got some one dollar pizza on St.Marks place before it started to rain.
We were about to go home but I'm glad we didn't!
They wanted Pinkberry so I went along with them.
I don't really like frozen yogurt but I liked the pomagranite one.

We still didn't want to go home so I pointed out a karaoke lounge.
The owner told me it was 24 dollars an hour but I offered to pay anyway.
We were a bunch of dorks and played rediculous songs but we had fun.
When we were done with our hour, I went to pay.
It ended up only costing 14 dollars.
I think it was because happy hours are 1PM to 7PM.
It was relatively cheap so we're thinking about going back.

Christina wants to have a sleep over next month.
Don't know what we're going to do but it's a fun idea : D

Tokyopop's SNS frustrates me so!
I uploaded chapter one of NB and it placed pages 3-10 RANDOMLY throughout the 90+ pages.
So I tried to rearrange it correctly and it doesn't change anything.
This is even more frustrating than MB and DA OTL

Toning page 4 of ITFL.
Finished inking NB chapter 2 cover.
Colouring some more NB pages.
Not doing my APUSH homework;;
Inking ITFL and NB pages.

I've been trying to eat healthy lately.
$7 salad is kind of hurting my wallet.
But it was a GOOD salad.
I also bought a healthy granola bar...
But that tasted like cardboard D :

Did some push-ups yesterday and my arms are BURNING.
I want my pants to FIT! ; u ;

I'll admit that this is on repeat on my media player...

NB progress

Working on an animatic for NB. This is just a tiny preview.

Still inking and placing some more frames.
Backgrounds are taking a while to ink;;

I'm completely done with chapter one!!
It'll post every other day until March 1st.
So I'm inking the cover for chapter <3
The backgrounds are bothering me for chapter two.
Most of it is indoors so I have find ways to fill the rooms in with STUFF.

Also inking pages for ITFL.
It's only 20-something pages but still...inking is such a bother OTL

My nose burns so bad. The flu has been going around.
My brother had it, my friend that came over on Friday had it and the kids I babysat had it too.
